In the early AMs of a random summer night in 2018, I found myself scrolling through YouTube in bed. Nothing in particular caught my interest for the most part, just the usual creepypasta and "TOP 15 SCARY VIDEOS!!!" style content I watched often at that point in my life. I was getting ready to call it a night when I came across an odd video. "Kyô Kawanishi - Maruberu Pause No Uchuusen." It had an eye-catching thumbnail, this eerie picture of a man wearing a jason voorhees lookin' hockey mask and some kind of robe. As someone who was and still is very into horror content, it piqued my interest, so I clicked on it.

The song, I listened to it... Dude, this song is weird as fuck, and I kinda love it?? From a more critical standpoint, the song sorta sucks, the vocals are poorly recorded and it sounds very cheaply made, but it has HEART. Even back then it really stuck with me, I did a bit of research that night and found both the Cartilage Consortium & World's Worst Records pages both discussing him but nothing else. Despite the lack of findings, I never forgot about it.

Something about the instrumentals man, I don't know what it is but I've gotten it stuck in my head more than a few times despite the awkward vocals and general vibe of the song. Over the years I'd remember his name and google it, I really wanted to hear the rest of the album this song belonged to, but the search continues to this day. Eventually I decided to make my findings public. If nothing else, it gives me peace of mind that I'm not just keeping all of this to myself.
